Too much typing not enough writing syndrome!

This is why at schools they should be teaching kids to touch type. It's an equally vital skill in this day and age to writing, yet with everybody in this country having to at some point use a keyboard, I find it odd there are still entire library computer rooms filled with people furiously using four fingers, yes I know that sounds dirty grow up.

I can touch type but I only ever use my first finger on my left hand, and my thumb, first and second finger on my right hand (thumb for space). Works fine for me.

I really struggle to write at the best of times. I make a little screw up and try to go over the letter again to fix it but just create a bigger hash.:p

It is scary though to think about how the future generation are going to be

it is all keyboards no pens

To be fair, how often do people have to write anyway? If the way of the world is going into typing, why shouldn't children be given a keyboard instead of a pen?

The only writing I've had to do today is to sign a tesco delivery with a stylus on the guy's pda.

I used to be able draw and write incredibly neatly in school. 14 years of jobs sat at computers has changed that a lot, holding a pen/pencil for an extended amount of time actually becomes painful

Shocking handwriting.

Same here, wife keeps hinting that i shouldn't write in our daughters reading record as her teacher can't read it. :(

But if you can use your entire hand you can go so much faster.

(There really is no way without discussing this without a whole heap of double entendres :D)

We should discuss this further, or have a debate about it. A big debate, a massive debate, in fact ....

i'll get my coat. :D

I've been suffering of this since I was about, erm 10 or so...

Handwriting was always terrible, hand hurts from anything more than 5 minutes of writing.

Hate filling in forms too, a form on pc is so much easier.

I love using a pencil to write

I've always preferred writing in pencil over other forms of writing. It's a shame that I have to write in pen for most of my work, but I've always got a 4H in my lab coat for taking notes and anything else I can get away with. My handwriting is also terrible.

Have an exam this week. For the last 3 days I have been practising my hand writing. This is so I can check my writing is legible and prevent my hand from cramping after question 1.

Does not help that I can't write cursive anymore. Not sure when I last that skill but at some point I suddenly couldn't.

Are any of you still able to write cursive?
