i drink 6/7 coffee with 2 sugars every day

put on some weight :(

want to stop drinking coffee now, will it ok if i drink lots of water instead?

It is possible to drink too much water which can result in loss of essentialy electrolites but you have to drink gallons. Lots of water is very good and the walks to the loo will help with exercise too :)

Yes water is ace. It'll make you feel much better generally too.

Unless you drink enough to cause reverse osmosis (think thats whats its called, but thats a lot of water)

i found cutting back on the coffee made loads of difference to me.

your liver can only really process around 3-4cups of coffee (the caffine anyways) a day.
that with a couple of beers say of an evening and it isnt easy for your body to do anything with the intake.

so, down to 3 coffess and 2 beers :)

Sure it's the coffee making you put weight on?

Sure it's not the large burger and chips? :p

Seriously, try to aim to drink about 2ltrs or water a day.

but water is so boring to drink, anything i can add in the water to taste better?

electrolites? is it something do with acid?

In the body electrolytes refers to stuff like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, phosphate etc. I think in chemistry it is just anything that dissolves into free ions and produces an electrically conductive substance.

Wean yourself off that stinky filth you drink and drink more water. It is boring to start with but I get a bit annoyed now if I can't have at least a bottle of water a day.

Lucozade Sport has been on 2-for-1 in my local Sainsbury's for ages now, and I'm going through shedloads of the stuff at the moment. It claims to be better for you than water - is this true?

There's a lot of sugar in it but its not inherently bad, and you could do with drinking water as well.

That's cool, I do drink water as well. I find that filling up a couple of plastic bottles and keeping them in the fridge makes it much more likely that I'll drink them.

I would say 95% of the time certainly not, I am shocked that they actually get away with putting that on the bottle.

That's a whole load of coffee mate. It certainly won't make you put on weight...quite the opposite!

I used to have at least 3 cups a day, but I packed it in and I feel totally different.

If you want to have a go at giving it up, get some half caff and continue to drink the same amount, then gradually try and have less and less.

Then maybe switch to decaff and have as few as possible without getting any headaches (caffeine withdrawal causes serious headaches that why you can't just go cold turkey on it).

Hopefully you should be able to stop drinking it without any troubles. :)

I always have a 2L bottle of water next to me through the whole day...and i just sip it when i want...always finish at least 2L every day...gona try to get it to 3L now.

It's not the coffee that's causing the wieght increase, it's the sugar ;)

Why not try less sugar or no sugar at all  (instead of drinking stuff that's meant for the fish to swim around in :p )

it'll take a lot for you to die from drinking water so dont worry about it... just dont hold it in when you need the loo and you'll be fine. its also a good way of washing out the system :p
