Too much?

i hate joggin i was going first thing in morning 5ish before work for an 1hr but got bored so do my long distance jogging in evening now on treadmill instead i do shuttle runs 5shuttle then 10 pushup then 5 shuttles and 20 situps.

I plod away for 40 minutes on a treadmill with my MP3 player and usually just switch off due to boredom. Team sports or squash / tennis are just so good for cardio as the time just goes past and 2 hours seems like 20 minutes.

Being outside in the fresh air running under the stars is actually quite nice. Treadmills are very boring.

Yes and treadmills seem a lot easier than road / field running so perhaps less beneficial per indicated km run...but I tend to mix the cardio in straight after a weights session so it just makes it convenient to use the hamster wheel :p.

The only problem with running outdoors is that, if you're on a road in rush hour, forget listening to music as it's too dangerous.

I hate running as such. Unless it's a race or with a ball I just can't motivate myself to do it. My other half is mad about it though. She's out running now and my suggestion of alternative exercise was not well received this evening lol.

Had a lovely run on Sunday morning in Sheffield. The sun was out, the views were great and for once, I had somebody running with me for a bit of a natter. It even made the pain from the hills easier!

Anyone ever go for a run at dawn ?

just as the suns coming up i find it the most piecefull, when the clocks go back, at around 5-6 am with my dog, very nice ;).

There's no benefit to sweating loads as sweating is just a function of your body temperature, not necessarily your heart rate. Obviously it means your working hard, but you stay hydrated better and sweating just basically means you're too hot. Best time to run imo is a cool evening.
