Too thin at 15 stone, wtf?!?!?!

Hard thing is, losing bodyweight through exercise is a bit of a fallacy. Most people stonewall their weight loss at a certain mass (then even start to GAIN weight from exercising!) because they're putting on muscle. Which is no bad thing.

I say sod the BMI - when you're relatively fit and healthy and in the average range, it's a poor indicator of overall fitness. Do something like Starting Strength Stronglifts till you can deadlift 2x bodyweight, bench bodyweight, and squat 1.5x bodyweight; run a mile and a half in 8.5 minutes; swim 200m.

Train for function, not form!

Imperial > Metric! (and this coming from a Frenchman!!! :o)

But why? I don't get it, all the weights at the gym are in KGs, all the scales are in KGs and yet for some bizzare reason people still convert to an ancient weight measurement. Strange...

Anyway - @OP - like everyone else is saying - as long as you're happy with your weight, everyone else be blowed. If you're happy and healthy then the rest can take a long walk off a short pier!

I'm 6'4" and bang on 14 Stones at the moment and I'm not thin by any means. I'd like to be 15 but with the extra stone being muscle lol.

at 6ft4 i wouldnt want to go under 14 Stone tbh. Im currently 15 at 6ft4 also and my mrs also says im too thin. But i think Women in general like guys to be a little bit on the big side than skinny.

I've always considered myself to be thin(too thin) and I just had a look at a BMI chart out of curiosity where I found that I am pretty much in the middle of the healthy section. It sure doesn't seem that way...

I don't know - I just prefer classifying my weight in stone  Strange really. If I state my weight as 100kg it doesn't quite mean anything, though I could say it's 1/10th of a tonne, but saying 220lbs or 15st10 sounds I don't know more sensible? Weird really.

Feet and inches for height, miles per hour for speed and stone for weight. This is coming from a 21 year old who had metric drilled into him at school xD

The BMI is bulldish, if you feel like you're at the right weight and don't have any health issues then ignore the dappy women. Don't try to gain weight to please them if it will make you miserable.
Unless you have an eating disorder, in which case get help.

I'm 6ft2", and weigh in at a hefty 18.5 stone which puts me in the clinically obese BMI thingy but i wouldnt say im fat.

My brother is 6ft 4" and weighs about 20 stone and is not fat in the slightest, he just trains hard.

Women dont like stick insects, they like a bit of meat with their gravy.

peter crouch has done awfully well for himself and is punching well above his weight, but lets face it he wouldnt have the bird he does if he was an office worker now would he :-)

Post some pictures up in the sports arena and people will decide, weight varies from person to person but I would guess (cant really tell without pics) you could do with losing a stone or so.

And anyone who breathes.

This is frequently used as an excuse by people. A lot of people convince themselves that because they occasionally go to a gym and lift a few weights it's meaningless for them. BMI is useful for an awful lot of people, in fact most people. If you are in the obese category the chances are you do need to lose some weight, maybe not down to <25 but quite likely to <30.
