Took a stray cat in

It's bloody hilarious the amount of advice which has been given by people who have never had a cat.

If cats are lactose intollerant then why is it such a common stereotype that cats love milk/cream?

They adore anti freeze too, doesn't do them any good..

Buy cat food for it. Take it to the vet to be scanned for a chip. There could be a very upset family out there looking for it..

Don't give him too much milk as it causes warms especially for little ones, that's why they make 'special milk' for cats, whiskas do it and most companies now do too.

Well done for taking the cat under your wings, they are amazing companions and very affectionate.

Good luck to both of you!

Neither of our cats wear collars. The advice is that they use the "snap-on/off" collars so they don't get themselves stuck on things.
This is obviously a good idea as we simply lose any collar we put on them. I say a good thing, because if it wasn't snap-off I'd fear poor kitty might get stuck somewhere.

The reason most people don't realise that most cats are LI is because most people let their cats out to **** in other people's gardens, they don't have to deal with the runny, smelly mess. :p

Avoid giving them anything from the onion family as it messes them up and causes anemia.

No Ham?
Oh **** :o

My four cats love the stuff, Binka, my British Blacksmoke Shorthair stole and ate a whole pack of ham slices the other day.... She also likes Garlic Bread, tea, coffee & beer!

At least she does not smoke......

Seriously...no ham?

I bought a pack of cat food the other week which had chicken and ham in it...sure about the Ham/Pork products?

This stuff:

The danger with Ham is that it is high in sodium and nitrates. It also can cause pancreatitis.

Ham made for human consumption is even worse.

I'd assume that cat food with pork in it is fine.

It's a Dickyb0b thread, is anyone else waiting for him to post a picture of his 'cat' and it's actually a confused badger or a squirrel?

They are attracted to the sweet smell and taste, but in fact if they drink it it kills them.

Yup and its a slow, painfull horrendous death so please make sure to keep it locked away from where small animals could get to it.

Also to OP stop being so lazy, take it to the vets and get it scanned ffs.
Someone could be out there spending a lot of time and money trying to locate their cat, never know they may even cough up a reward (I know I would for my cats).

Never know could belong to some massive meat head dude and one day he'll walk past yer house and see HIS cat in YOUR house! Knock on the door and not be the nicest of people.

Not to mention the cat may have medical conditions or need medication regularly, you keeping it at home just because you feel like it could harm the cat.

It may be chipped, it may not, do the decent thing and take it to the Vet.

As for your comment about a cat being let out early morning not being a responsible owner?

I have 2 cats, both chipped, both insured, both with safety/quick release collars. They let out early morning (Before we need to goto work) and late at night, before we go to bed. do you think its fairer having the cats cooped up all day in the house?

I left my cat with my mom when I moved out, but I'm sure to feed him ham everytime I visit so he remembers me. Oh well, at least he'll die happy. :)

Also OP won't take to vet for a scan because this is the worse I just stole a cat thread ever.
