Tool Live

I used to think that but I went to see Rammstein last year and could only get seated and really enjoyed it regardless. Maybe I am just getting old.

I went to Rammstein last year, in ****ing Berlin.

Standing > *

What happened to the gig on the 14th? There only seems to be tickets for the 13th on Ticketmaster, and crap ones at that :(

Just got tickets for the dress circle as I hear Tool is more of a band to sit and watch rather than jump around too. Anyone been seated at Hammersmith before? never been there before.

I was standing for A Perfect Circle and I wish i had been seated... tried to get to the front but it were full of people who were just waiting to jump around. Personally, I prefer to listen than to get out of my head by pushing people...

Seats are a good choice, and I got some good seats this time around.

Bit of digging reveals that they are going to be putting these on sale after the 13th has sold out. I'm not 100% sure on this however.

Not impressed by the way the UK leg of the tour has been handled so far; un-announcing tour dates, pre-sales and general secrecy. Smacks of commercialism and a lack of respect for the fans to me.

Probably nothing to do with the band themselves though, can you think of another tour this hotly anticipated by rock music fans in the last couple of years? The marketing guys know full well how popular this is going to be so will have taken hold, hence the faffing around and general tomfoolery.

Still, I've got a standing ticket and so have a bunch of mates thanks to IceBus so I don't really care!

The fans dont need respect, plus if you look over at ToolNavy you'll see how disrespectful the fans can be as well

Let me refer you to an email someone on TA received from Blair after asking about the shoddiness of the presale:-

"Blame it on the DownLoad Festival people - putting in the contract that WE can't advertise shows within a certain radius until there's a sell out. ~ BMB"

And given how big a draw to Download Tool are can you blame them?? No doubt they are being paid a few £££ to turn up.

I'll be there :D

Mate got 5 tickets yesturday, all seated but tbh i'd still want a ticket if the only ones they had meant you were to be suspended from the gantry by your balls :D

For some strange innapropriate reason, the Tool album now ranks No10 on Amazon.com

Must be by page views.

Hotly anticipated by the looks of it!

You going for both dates CBS then?

I'm tempted but they are so very expensive :(

Hmm, London will a bit of a difficult trek considering i'll have just got back from Download fest.

However, unless I am going a bit crazy, last night I saw there was a date in Stoke? Am I going mad? Too much intoxicating substances? :/

Yes, I currently have a swathe of tickets, for both nights. I agree that it is expensive, but I have been waiting for Tool for a long, long time so can easily justify the expense...

I'm being serious so no flaming please.

I just don't get the passion people have for TOOL. I have their albums and I've give two of them a listen today. I acquired a couple of live video concerts but I just can't see or hear what people are raving about. I must be missing the point somewhere. On the other hand I've decided to listen properly to Fear Factory for the first time this week and they've blew me away.

Anybody want to explain TOOL?

I can't really :(

Over the course of the academic year, I've seen: 65Daysofstatic, Nine Black Alps, Roni Size, Red Sparowes, Mastodon, The Go! Team, Mew, Opeth, The Decemberists, The New Pornographers, Four Tet (with Explosions In The Sky), Animal Collective, Pelican, Panic! At The Disco, CKY to name but a few, and I'm seeing Sigur Ros and Mogwai over the course of the next two weeks, and I'm seeing Oceansize tonight.

That's far too much money on gig tickets :( It meant that I had to pick between Radiohead and Tool aswell (both were tickets around the £40 mark). I picked Tool obviously, because I'm sure I'll get the chance to see Radiohead again (when they release their new album for instance), but Tool, who knows, as they are crazy kids!

You got Aenima? That's a friggin' work of perfection. I don't know why I like them so much, maybe it's Maynard's awesome voice or Danny's amazing drumming, or the fact that I like their lyrics, and that it's very interesting innovative stuff. I can't understand the Tool mania I see some fans with, such as figuring out that Danny drums in the Fibbonaci series in Lateralus, and that that someone links up with the fact that if you rearrange the songs in a particular order then you release a demon or some rubbish, but I do like them a loooooot :)
