I don't like lots of individual tools hanging up on the wall because it involves lots of walking to and fro to get things.

Same here. 95% of my tools are in cases.

Ordered and am now using an erbauer stacker. After years of using random boxes and making a million trips. I decided to commit and also bought a stacking crate to compliment the whole lot

I think tool storage is the most neglected yet most important thing you can spend money on. Knowing where your tools are and that they are protected is so, so important.
