I'd be utterly amazed if any widescreen rezzes were in the top 5, most mainstream users will be using much more standard screens.

~1280x800 is an exception as I believe some Workstation/CAD type monitors from Sun etc have used that for a while.

1360x768 is becoming more and more popular, as it's the most common resolution found on LCD HDTV's (since they're actually cheaper to make than 1280x720 screens).

It's a proper 16:9 resolution too, not some wierd-ass 16:10 broken ratio nonsense :p

Zomg, you know what rez I run at, I call hax. :p

Nice to see 1280x1024 win something though. :)

whats really strange is that 1280 x 1024 should not really be used on a 4.3 screen as it stretches stuff, the true res should be 1280 x 960 true 4.3 :) just like 800 x 600 & 1024 x 768 is true 4.3, that goes for games also.

how wrong can you be?

also you are doing a university course and your first port of call for research is an overclockers forum.

I think 1920x1200 would be one of the least used resolutions, 1024x768 and 1280x1024 would probabilly be quite highly used though.

I'm amazed how many people still use 800x600 according to those surveys

Personally on anything less than 17" I use 800x600, and there's quite a lot of those type of screens in use in offices.

Having read this I decided to give 1024 a rest and move up. Got an old 19" CTX CRT which won't do 1280*1024 at anything higher than 60Hz  which gave me a headache almost immediately. Settled now for 1152*864 at 70Hz and love it.

It's always a bit scary going to a higher resolution. Going from 800 to 1024 was a shock, but you always like it better in the end.

Now to find a CRT which will do some proper resolutions at a good high refresh rate. On the bay for me I think :)

good job these screens are 5:4 then, eh?

Danzla, honestly...how on earth can you think 1920x1200 is a popular resolution. how many people actually own a 24" widescreen lcd??
