top 5 resolutions

whats really strange is that 1280 x 1024 should not really be used on a 4.3 screen as it stretches stuff, the true res should be 1280 x 960 true 4.3 :)
Indeed - But you get more pixels on-screen with 1280 x 1024.

Best 'most number of pixels' to 'able to see the screen' ratio IMHO.

It depends on what you get used to - 1024 x 768 looks "fat" to me. :p

I think 1920x1200 would be one of the least used resolutions, 1024x768 and 1280x1024 would probabilly be quite highly used though.

No, defiantly 2048x1536. The internet isn't ready yet. :(

good job these screens are 5:4 then, eh?

Danzla, honestly...how on earth can you think 1920x1200 is a popular resolution. how many people actually own a 24" widescreen lcd??

i was on about 4.3 crt screens oviously :)

thanks for the info, guys i just needed to know what the more common WS and normal res are, as im designing desktop wallpapers, and wanted to see what sizes i should design them in.

will give a link to site once up./

widescreen res prob?

Hi all,

just received my Hanns-g HW191DP yesterday and have been very, very, very pleased with it so far. Highly reccomend it to all!

BUT, having a wonder about resoulutions, most people seem to use this monitor at 1400 x 900, when i use it at that res it goes blurry/ text too small. The most comfortbale res for me is 1280 x 768. I am using an vga input via onboard nforce 6100 graphics, would this have anything to do with it?

Also, on Counter Strike Source, what res is everyone playing it at, or what res should i use to make use of the widescreen?

I have attached what my desktop looks in either resolutions:

1280x768

1440x900

Thanks,

Digisatman

Well for starters taking a screenie of what it looks like is pointless, you'll have to take a photo of the monitor, they both look clean, clear and crisp to me on my VX922 (at 1280x1024 I might add).

thats correct look fine to me very clear but they would to any1 as you took screenshot, maybe make a 10 sec video clip or like InvaderGIR said you must take photo of the monitor not a screenshot.
