I have 3 monsters, with varying degrees of Autism, so we've learned to pack the following whenever we travel (EU, Canada, Thailand):

Nintendo Switch + Dock + 5m long HDMI Cable

2x Pair Joycons

4x GameSir Nova Wireless Switch Pro Controllers (can also pair with Android Tablets & Phones) (under £20 each @ Shein/AliX, or £30 in the UK)
Power & Network Kit:
Vodafone MU5001 5G LTE Travel Router (UNLOCKED! £100 @CeX, or £170 new) + either Local 5G SIM with as much Data as possible (ideally unlimited) or use a Maya e-sim + phone's hotspot.

30W UGreen GaN UK to European Plug Adapter with 2x USB-A 2x USB-C PD ports (£20)

Belkin E-Series 6 Plug SurgeStrip Surge Protected Extension Lead - 1m (£13)

65W UGreen Nexode GaN USB-C charger with 3x USB-C & 1x USB-A ports (£35)

60W RavPower 12A 6-Port USB Wall Desktop Charger (£22 on eBay)

UGreen Nexode 140W 25,000mAh Laptop Power Bank (2x USB-C 1x USB-A ports) (£72 currently)

2x 5m UGreen 100W USB-C-C & 1x USB-C-A Cables (to power Switch in Dock + charge other 30W+ devices)

6x 1m USB-A-C 30W Cables (to charge Game Controllers, etc)

Devices:
3x Fire HD 10 Tablets (13th Gen) with Google Play Store (simple enough to sideload) & 1Tb SDXC cards loaded with their favourite movies/series via Stremio

(Highly recommend the following tablet over the Amazon Fire versions):
1x DOOGEE T30 Pro 11 Inch 2.5K Tablet (2024 Android 14), 15Gb RAM, 256GB (£150 currently)

Firestick 4K & Remote with 3m Micro USB Cable (to plug into hotel TV)

3x Soundcore Q20i Active Noise Cancelling Headphones (with USB-C + 3.5mm cables & plane adaptors) - currently £40/pair
(These are absolutely essential - we drove over 3,500km on our last Canada trip and not having to hear the kids' various devices spewing whatever nonsense they're watching on YouTube was bliss!
On our 2018 Canada Trip (we covered 6k KM over 6 weeks), the kids had cheap Bluetooth headphones, two of which broke two days into the trip. It. Was. Hell.

Switch Games:

MarioKart 8

Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Party
1/2 Switch
Super Smash Bros
Lego games (Marvel Superheroes 2, City Undercover, StarWars Saga)

1Tb SDXC Card with other games loaded:
Fortnite
Rocket League
Fall Guys
Monopoly
Party Trivia
Tetris99
Uno
Trivial Pursuit
Full NES & Super Nintendo Library (via Switch Online Subscription)

Games on Tablets:
Minecraft
Roblox
(Amazon Luna)
Fortnite
Rocket League
(+Whatever's included with Prime)

My Doogee Tablet:
Moonlight streaming from my PC (via Sunshine) - can access full Epic/Steam/etc libraries (best used on hotel's free 5G WiFi if fast enough, or unlimited data SIM)

Streaming Services/Apps for Fire stick/Tablets/Phones
Windscribe VPN (absolutely essential for many Hotel WiFi services)
Netflix
Amazon Prime (Video/Music/Luna)
Geforce Now Premium (£20 for 30 days - but can find much cheaper with a VPN)
YouTube Premium (via VPN)
Stremio (with Real Debrid subscription - can replace Netflix/Prime)

We've also taken our PS5 to Canada before, but the kids prefer the Switch as it's much more shareable.

Edit: I may have missed the *COMPACT* part of the OP  - but to be fair, I can fit all of the above in my E-bags Motherlode XL which sadly isn't available since Samsonite bought them out.

There are Chinese clones about, though:
Lumesner 40L Flight Approved Travel Tech Backpack: https://amzn.eu/d/03F9HcD

The packing cubes are really handy for organising cables/gadgets and keeping things tidy.
