Top Gear Series 18 *SPOILERS*

I found it funny how clarkson was slating the X-Bow saying it was a bit 'soft' and 'boring' however I saw one being driven properly at Anglesey and it was flying around...almost F1 like :eek:
 
I think that's the point. It's too good and too easy to go fast. Some cars are fun on the edge, whereas the xbows limits are far beyond the reach of most average drivers.

It wouldn't have a Merlin as such (as James May would have explained). Probably a version of a Meteor tank engine, probably with as much sound dampening as they could manage.

Merlin engines went well over 2000 hp. Bit much for a 1920s Bentley :)

I wound the volume right up as Jeremy started up those two animals. I wasn't disappointed. What I wouldn't give to commute in that Bentley, cruising along with people in their little 1L Diesel ecoboxes and Priuses (Priii?) :D
 
Liked last nights episode, saw the Brutus getting beat by a BMW 1 series in Clarkson's xmas DVD so knew it wasn't going to stand a chance against the Bentley but was still fun to watch :P

It would have been slightly better imo if they had raced the Brutus against another old aircraft engined car like the British Napier Railton Special instead of against a new car (80 years younger lol) with retro design and a tank engine, the Bentley would have been better racing Jay Leno's tank car but meh, cant have everything :D
 
The thing that made that Brutas good was the explosions every time Clarkson changed gear - watching him jump a mile :D

This series is getting more and more disappointing, they should do an entire series with them doing the Top Gear Challenges, they're loads better than the normal TV series, also 6 episodes should not constitute a series! what happened to 12 or 24 episodes per series!

On topic, am I correct in saying that the Brutus/Bentley and Hammond s Morgan all went round the track slower than some stars in reasonably priced cars have?

Yes, they went round in 1.40 something, loads of SIRPC have beaten that

Lol my mistake, I know that some power laps have been under 1.40 though, I think thats where I got confused.

The fastest car around the track is 0:59.0 – Renault R24 Formula One car(Wet, driven by Heikki Kovalainen)
