TornTv....NOOOOOOOOOOO :(

....and maybe that will work out well for you, the formatting etc. But each time that you get a virus or malware the most appropriate action isn't going to be a format of your entire OS, along with all of the customisations etc which apply.

From what I understand TornTV isn't even a virus, in its native form, but an application addon which can be installed from clicking when watching online TV shows etc, residing on your PC and also in your browser as an addon / extension.

Precisely this.

Why would you wipe your machine? It is like amputating your arm from having a nick in the finger.

This is typically how people learn anyway. Best of luck, and when installing read the agreements that fool you into installing PUP's. ;)

Vimes;27464439 For example Windows 7 for me will not have my LAN drivers and thus can't get online to install them. Again the best of luck.[/QUOTE said:
This has happened to me! Installed new windows now but I can't get online it's saying windows did not detect a network adapter! :(

ive never had any issues with windows 7 or 8.1 with installing drivers.

the only thing I have to install is the latest gpu drivers

Create a virtual pc for surfing the web and create a snapshot, if you download something you can just restore from the snapshot and be surfing the internet again in 1min!

Right this is giving me a real head ache now! wish i never re installed windows now..... i got the internet working on it, i just had to install the drivers disk that came with my mobo, that was easy and sorted not have no internet...

when i was trying to install windows on my ssd which all ready had windows on it i got this message

but that does not make any sense at all as windows is all ready on the drive, so i though ok, so i formatted my other ssd to GPT and it installed ok on it, now when i try to format my my original ssd which has windows on the pc crashes and boots up to this screen

so now i got windows installed on 2 ssd's but only want my new install on one ssd, ive changed the boot up drive in bios also and both windows load up ok (one a fresh windows and the other loads up how my pc was before with my tweaks etc)

any idea at all what is going on as this is not fun one bit :(

thanks in advance for taking the time to help me :)

thanks mate ill download them now :) ill let you know how it goes, but i think the ssd might be broken, as windows seems to be working fine with my fresh instal on my old ssd, only when i try to format the new ssd i get the re boot and blue screen, so i think my new ssd has died.....?

What is your 2 SSDs brand and models? You didn't stated it when posted spec.

Is old windows installed on 120GB SSD and 256GB is new SSD?

Is old SSD still showed up in File Explorer?

I googled found new SSDs BSODed after attempts to format were caused by Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver installed, if you have it installed, try uninstalled it and you would able to format new SSD without BSOD.

Athlon YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!

thats it! its blooming formatting now! everything seems ok, only thing is that ive ended up with windows on my 120gb ssd lol instead of my 256gb ssd, but if thats the only problem i got left ill take that any day! id just need to use macrium to clone my o/s on the 120gb over to the 256gb ssd, then format the smaller ssd right...

man i cant tell you how friggin happy i am!! i owe you big time :)

one more thing now and this shall be the last lol

in disk management my fresh install of windows is now cloned all ok to my 256Gb ssd, but ive got a partition on it of 126gb of unallocated space, how do i combine that unallocated space in with the C drive?

Right click on C partition and chose Extend Volume to expand C partition to combined all unallocated space.

I removed torntv from a friends machine with lavasoft adaware.
my goto for crap like that is usually http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/ but seems torntv wasn't added to their list yet
Junkware Removal Tool is a security utility that searches for and removes common adware, toolbars, and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) from your computer. A common tactics among freeware publishers is to offer their products for free, but bundle them with PUPs in order to earn revenue. This tool will help you remove these types of programs.

my friend got torntv from updating adobe flash as far as I could workout.
I remember updating flash the same day and unticking the crappy software they were trying to bundle with the flash update

Thanks for the tips, I'm now creating image back ups of every drive now using Macrium reflect and saving on my external 300gb hdd, as long as I do a new image back up regular I should avoid this head ache again when I get infected next right

i just checked on how the backing up with macrium is going, and my full 1tb drive being backed up to my external 300gb drive has stopped halfway, it says the external is full :( macrium is not compressing the backup enough, what are my choices now? (I had compression set to high)
