Torque Vs Handling

Seeing this video which fetaures a NSX racing a Skyline shows that torque is not everyhting. Even thought the skyline has maahoosive amounts of torque compared to the NSX it makes poo all difference over the course of a lap.

Despite (as said by many) the crappy VTEC system the NSX is able to stick with the Skyline only losing out in the straights.

Awaits all the usual folk to say oh buy the skyline driver can't drive or he is cruising.

The point of this thread is to say IMHO VTEC is not as bad as folk say it is.

No wrong the video in the opening post is to show that a car with loads of torque and crap chassis can easily be matched by VTEC powered car with a lot less torque but a well tuned chassis.

Where did I say this - I said if you read the OP properly that VTEC is not as bad as folk make it to be.

The reason I posted was because I see a lot of posts where folk talk of turbo power and tunability and VTEC is gutless and crap technology.

VTEC - Power higher up in the rev range
Turbo - Power Lower down in rev range

VTEC unit just delivers power in a different manor which does not make them crap. Turbo cars are great for effortless driving but i'd much rather have a gutless (as some describe it) VTEC unit + Honda tuned chassis.

.....really, really obvious point then that cars with quite a bit of weight and a chassis that wasn't sorted by one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time aren't as quick at getting around corners as supercars?

Wow, let me grab a pen and write that one down! I'll have to remember that!

The NSX Vs Skyline is one example video I found my point is regarding the whole VTEC range of cars not just the NSX why you keep narrowing it to the NSX baffles me - the video is only an example sheesh

I don't post here much often have I said something in the past to you that has caused you to respond in such a manor to my thread even if its pointless or a stupid post its my right to post but it sure does not deserve a response like the one in your post. Unless I have said something directed at you I think the sarcasam is uncalled for.
