Hi all, just wondering what torrent application you use, and also do any of you bother using torrent encryption, and also what do you set your upload speed to?

uTorrent, latest non beta build. Encryption enabled (not forced) with incoming legacy connections enabled. Upload is set to 190KB/s, can get just over 200KB/s through my line.

Well, if your using forced encryption i assume that all connections through bittorrent are encrypted and apart from the fact that you are obviously using P2P anyone including your ISP will be unable to determine exactly what your downloading?

If you are downloading something you shouldn't, say a mp3 track you dont own the rights to, using encryption wont stop the RIAA simply connecting to the tracker and harvesting all the IPs (including yours).

All encryption does is stop anyone between you and the destination knowing what the data your sending is. It doesn't stop law enforcement or even companies like the RIAA finding out who is downloading illegaly, and taking legal action against them.
