Toshiba 2TB, failed to format.

Heyup,

I got a Toshiba 2TB for backups, tried to format it and couldn't, either from Windows, or through the NAS software. The drive is recognised in Disk Management, and initialised, but fails to format (MBR).

OS : Windows 7.
Docking station : ICY DOCK MB981U3S (USB3).
Synology DS213+.
Toshiba 2TB DT01ACA200.

I've used that docking station many times, with Seagate and WD drives, and never gave me trouble. The disk formating starts, then gives up shortly after with a fail.

Anything I can try before returning it? Looks like it's gonna have to make a trip back to OcUK

Try formatting using the sata from you PC first?

Are you formatting using a SATA port or using some sort of USB adapter? Not that it should matter really, but if you're using an adapter try formatting with the drive connected directly to a SATA port.
