Toshiba 32WL56 32" Help

Can anyone advise if there were 2 versions of this model released?

Reason i ask is the Toshiba website shows the following;

CONTRAST RATIO as 800:1
BRIGHTNESS (cd/m2): 500

But a shop where I am to pick one up tomorrow shows the following on there website;

CONTRAST RATIO 600:1
BRIGHTNESS (cd/m2): 550

:confused: appreciate any help.

i wouldnt worry too much about the quoted figures, worry more about what you can see for yourself. Ive got one of the wlt58's, and im extremely happy with the pictures its capable of.

Yes been reading some very good reviews of the WLT58's.

This is so true.

When I used to work in a store, people would insist on buying the screen with the higher brightness or contrast "figures" even though they would agree with me that the "lesser" spec'd TV looked much better!

Most people don't even know what the numbers refer to.

I could normally talk some sense into them though and they went away happy. :)
 
Well I picked one up.

The model no has a P on the end 32WL56P :confused:

It looks nice and big in my room.

I am not one for reading manuals but looks as though I may have to with this tv.

I am running it through a Digi FreeView box with an indoor ariel and where as this produced a good picture on my 28" JVC this is not so on this Toshiba 32WL56P :( ..........need to sort out an outside ariel.

Hi There im soon to be getting the 32WLT58 lcd from Toshiba , could you please advise how good the picture is , also been trying to find the refresh/respone time for the is lcd .
A good lcd respone time is between 8ms - 12ms

Any idea what the toshiba's are :confused:

Picture quality is great on my 37" WLT58 :) Vibrant colours, sharp picture and response rate is plenty fast enough to keep up with everything I watch - even football :) I highly recommend the panel and it can be had for 20% off from Freemans.com

the only time I have seen a 'P' on a model # is from a website based in France,so maybe yours has come from that side of the channel
 
There is one high street retailer who always seem to stock models which have slightly different model numbers but are identical.

Maybe it helps with their "price promise", I don't know but when working for their competitor I did notice it a lot.

Toshiba tech have told me that P = PAL.
