Hey guys

Wondering if anyone can help.

Was on my laptop this evening and it all of a sudden turned completley off. I was running it with battery in and the wall socket.

It now turns on, fans spin but blank screen, I can't get it to boot.

I've taken out the ram, tried each individually. Tried leaving the battery out overnight and doesn't do anything.

Same thing - power on fans spin and nothing.

The laptop is a P200 Toshiba.

Any tips much appriciated, I've never had a laptop do this to me before!

clearing the cmos might work.

It will probably be located under the ram slots, maybe under a sticker, it may be labelled jp1 or similar. sometimes it can be under the wifi card

it may take a few goes, short the jumper with a flat screwdriver and power on the pc for 20 secs, repeat if necessary.

failing that if your p200 has a separate vga card, it may need reseating.

Might be a silly question but do laptops have a CMOS battery you can remove or is it just a jumper?
