First time I've done this, can I assume that by the version number my motherboard could do with an update? And can I also assume the one shown available in the picture is the correct one as it's the only choice?
Thanks..

Don't update from their server. Way more risky. Manually download the BIOS from the Giga website instead, stick it on a FAT 32 flash drive (format it to FAT 32 if needed) preferably 16GB or less (this may be ancient advice and no longer applicable) and then go inside the BIOS and follow the procedure to flash there. Best to read anything concerning whether the file has to be renamed (sometimes the case) before flashing.

Also, before flashing, reset the BIOS to default to remove all CPU, RAM overclocks etc.

still very good advice and still very vailid.

but most if not all eufi bios now reset to default though on completion so that step is not needed anymore

Cool, thanks guys. Appreciate that, I would have just taken the easy option and pressed Next. Which usually ends in tears!

You should be able to use the @BIOS app from gigabyte to flash from windows. Just download the bios file, extract it then point @BIOS to the relevant file. Just done 2 gigabyte boards to get the new ryzen support, flashed multiple bios with no trouble

I'm very tempted but I have read a couple of reports about not doing it over the internet in the Windows environment. Think I may play it safe and save the flash to a drive and do it that way. It does look a bit more faff though, the @BIOS app looks ridiculously easy, glad you had no trouble.
