Total Recall remake

Could be a good thing, lets be honest the first film wasn't anything special....

ya joking me.

YOU THINK THIS IS THE REAL QUAID? :

:p

it is!

I remember going to school the day after it was first shown on TV, me and a mate spoke about the film for a whole lesson, quoting parts, etc as ya do :D :o

I wont be watching this new one thats for sure.

Total Recall is a classic of not only the Action genre, but Sci-Fi as well - it perfectly bridges the two like only a very few films successfully have. Add to that quite possibly the best Arnie cheese of his career, and it is indeed a classic.

Yet another pointless remake...

The Birds, Friday 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Robocop amongst others.

WHY?

Robocop is a sequel iirc. Plus its Darren Aronofsky directing so it should be good.

Friday 13th and Nightmare on Elm street don't count as there's already multiple films in those series and I don't regard them as classics by any stretch.

I don't have any objections to a remake. It'll feature different actors, different locations. So given the strength of the story it could be made really good reworking the CGI.

Get your ass to Mars!

Film's a classic in my books and should not be messed with lightly.

I would actually welcome a new Robocop film (which I believe has been confirmed as it's own continuity, separate to that of the existing films).

I'm actually confused now, I wouldn't mind seeing a new Robocop film but am quite opposed to a Total Recall one. I don't know why but I seem to think it's less likely they could balls up a Robocop re-imagining than a Total Recall one.

Good news i guess but how exactly are they gonna replace
A.The legend that is Arnie
B.Michael Ironside as the bad guy
C.Great action 80/90s film director Paul Verhoeven ok maybe could be replaced ?

It's a classic along with other timeless greats like Big Trouble in Little China.

Oi, Total Recall is not in the same league as BTILC, in fact it's not even playing the same game. We need to work on the definition of classic here quite clearly, Total Recall is cheesy (but enjoyable) trash. BTILC is one of Kurt Russell's finest moments and a tour de force in gormless acting (Keanu Reeves take note).

I don't think Total Recall needs a remake as it worked perfectly well originally but as has been said it was only fairly loosely tied into the book so it depends how they take the remake route.
