Hi,

I've been planning to upgrade my Pc for a while now and now that Christmas is over and I don't have to save up for presents, why not upgrade! The old AMD APU is something I wish to upgrade. I'm looking at intel i5 or i7 (Going towards more i7 just so it's futureproofed a bit more if it's not too much extra money.

I'm using this for lots of gaming, new games at 1680X1050 (dual monitors but only game on one) but looking to upgrade my monitors eventually. Also using this for lots of game recording and video rendering .

My current specs are

Thanks. Is this ram replacing my current one or adding to it?
Would 16gb make much difference? Would it be better to buy the same ram as to what I have now? (from another source as OC do not have them in stock)
If it doesnt make much difference, i'll stick with 8gb for now.

Would my PSU suffice for the time being, or isn't it powerful enough at all? (i also don't plan on having an SSD just yet)

Haswell is optimised for use with faster ram, but you can use your existing ram. And 8gb is enough for gaming.
You could use your current Psu, as long as everything is running at stock speeds.

Yeah, no overclocking just yet. I probably will do when the time comes for it, but that can be after another saving. I hate spending this amount of money in one go, even if I've saved up for it.
I'll need another monitor as well, one of mine are very old and only support VGA (that's not my gaming monitor though) - which that mobo doesnt. (I need to get with the times)

Thanks for the help

Did`nt you get a DVI-VGA adapter with the 7870? If not, just buy one.
