Just failed my driving test and im gutted!

It was going perfect, it was the best id ever driven, but it came to a junction,
edit: ill draw a picture!
untitledum0.jpg

Bascially im the black car, and slowed turn right, the car infront of me slowed down and looked as if he was giving way, we were both stationary for ages,so i didnt want to hesitate and started to go, and so did he....so i had to stop quite quickly :(

Im totally gutted because the examiner said i drove perfectly and only got 2 minors (didnt looked in my mirror before indicating, then once for clutch)...he said he knew as soon as i got in the car it would be a breeze for me, apart from that incident :(

Totally gutted

Don't be gutted, think of it this way, you won't make that mistake again, either on the test or in real conditions :) Head up, next time will go perfect :)

Are you meant to just sit there in that situation? i.e. just do nothing, and wait for the guy to carry on, albeit a bit miffed.

Aww sorry to hear that :(

Are you going to retake asap?
Im going to have some dinner then book a test and also put in for cancelations! Knowing me ill fail again lol

If that is your only problem then you'll nail it next time, things like this happen, dont get hang up on it.

Can;t be worst then my friend, her first test she had 16 miniors and ran into the round about.

Sounds like the other driver was a typical over-friendly road user. There are too many people that slow down / stop unnessecarily (sp?) to let you go. For example if you are waiting to turn right and a stream of 10 cars goes past you obviously have to wait before you can turn. The last driver in the stream will often slow down to let you turn in front of him. This is almost completely pointless cause it just causes confusion and only saves you a couple of seconds. He should just hold his road and let you look after yourself.
In the learner's case I think I would have just stayed where I was and let the other guy move on. Might have got a minor for hesitation but it would have been safe. I wonder what the highway code says....

ran....into...roundabout....

I hate it when people are lient on Learners.

yes when i see a learner i don't speed, i give them loads of room but i still apply the basic rules of who has right of way and don't let them go if they don't have right of way, they won't learn then.

My mum gives way to them and she must have forgotten how confusing it is for a learner when someone gives way when they shouldn't have.

Lol ive got some gooduns aswell,

Someone i know learning to drive (blonde female), her mums was with her and told her to take the 3rd exit of the roundabout, she then proceeded to go the WRONG way around the roundabout and *shortcut* to the third exit. After she came off and her mother being stunned she said "you do know what you did wrong there?" the blonde then said "oh yeah, didnt cancel my indicators early enough*, true story i tell thee!!

And theres another one (ginger female), who was told to go straight over the roundabout, yes she did that literally. :o

good luck for next time :) what did you actually do wrong? If you had right of way and the other guy starts to go, there's not much you can do about it
