Toucan ISP

Hi all,

right i think i have been ordered broadband as a birthday present and was wondering if toucan are a good broadband service provider as i have never heard of them?!

it is the 2mbps unlimited package

Theirs only about 5 posts about them on ADSLGuide.org.uk - so if you can, I'd stay clear. Go with well known companies, such as Nildram.

I'm with them. The service is ok. Not as bad as the hassle i've had from BT. The pricing is very good, but that's because it adopts a fair usage policy AFAIK. We have the phones through them as well and so far no problems to report. Phones are working fine and the bills have been spot on.

2mb internet line, was fine up until 5pm then went rubbish. If you rinto gaming, forget it, in 15 months the lowest ping i had between 5pm and midnight was about 270 and my download speeds would max out at 35kbs on HTTP or anything web based, and P2P, forget it.

After 8 month i started to get onto their back about it with their customer service, they sent me round in cicles for 6 months doing speed tests and telling me they were monitoring my speeds to try to detect a fault. Eventually i sent an email to them demanding they do something as it was obvious i was fine on my end, and the BT lien was fine, so it could only have been them. I got no reponse to my email, so i sent another one, and again no response. Ater that it was a case of game over and cancel.
