Tower Defence - addictive game

I got 67. Got 61 on my second go.

Is there a particular winning strategy to this?

Great game btw.
 
Well I'm thinking the best strategy would be to place towers where their range covers the greatest length of path, maximising firing time. This is probably around the U bend bits, however I only got 60 with that strategy. I havn't tried any of the other towers apart from water and fire, i can't tell which is better atm so maybe I should look into it...
 
Leaf have the worst stats to start with but end out with the best for the cheapest, I thinks.
 
I tried putting towers round all the bends on one game with one major tower fully upgraded and got 67 and then tried using more towers in just one bend with less upgrades and got 61.

Is it better to have more towers with less upgrades or vice versa i wonder?
I'm thinking less towers with more upgrades is cheaper.
 
Yeh, less towers, more upgrades is better. I'm not sure whether Nature or Water is the best atm, a fully upgraded nature tower has more damage, but less range, I did 1 fully upgraded water tower and all the rest fully upgraded nature towers and i got to level 74, i'll try all water towers next i think. The real aim though is to get the fully upgraded armoured tower, but at $23000 total it's hard to get, i havn't managed to collect enough for one yet, but it's got loads of damage for it's price.
 
Using all water towers I only got 72, so I'm now thinking nature ones are better. It says the creator managed to get to level 90, i think he must have got one of the super armoured ones, there's no way that i can see to get to that level with the standard guns, since the enemies get tougher faster than you can increase your damage points. I think it's a case of going on the absolute minimum number of towers possible to save enough to buy a big armoured one...
 
Hahaha water towers are easily the best, I did bad in my first try but now I'll probably get to level 72 or something :D 300 range and something like 7300 damage.
 
Just water towers down the middle, got to 71 that time.

This time going to go with just three and buy a big one!

This is addictive. :(

Thats what I'm doing at the moment, seems like the best strategy. Where do you find those armoured tower thingies that other guy mentioned?
 
67 on first go:
2 fully upgraded water towers
3 nearly full upgraded water towers
1 fully upgraded fire tower
2 nearly full upgraded fire towers
1 fully upgraded green tower
3 storm towers
1 armoured tower
