Toxic vs 770

Now with the price drops of the nvidia cards what am i better of going with the 280x toxic or an 770 I was going to order a toxic but seen the price drops now so not sure. Needing youre advice folks thanks

Depends. Do you want the games that come with the 770? What resolution will you be playing at? Are any features such as CUDA useful to you?

Personally I'd pick up the MSI 280x for £229, seems like the best deal sub £300 assuming you don't need certain features.

Edit: I see the MSI card has gone up, makes it a bit more difficult I'd be looking at stretching to the 780 Phantom personally.

I want it purely for gaming. This will be my first gc so dont really know. Just want best performance for best price

The AMD R9 290 will be out soon and at least from what I read cheapest models should be arond £325 to £350(I could be wrong).

Also,remember if Nvidia is dropping pricing of the GTX770,we might see price drops on some of the more expensive R9 280X cards. TBH,I would just wait another week or two until the dust settles,as AMD and Nvidia should have been finished launching new cards this year.

Then you can sell the games off for £40-50 I'd guess making it a bargain, unless you want to keep them (Batman is great fun, not sure about the others).

The Asus HD7970 Matrix Platinum can be had for that price as can the Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X OC. I am not sure about the R9 280X but the HD7970 comes with three games too.

Gigabyte does have the best warranty for UK users as RMA is UK based.

Yes. Very tempted by the Gainward GTX 770 Phantom, but will see what happens with the 290 when its launched at the end of the week...

Really torn - looking for something quiet to replace my very noisy XFX 6870 (the single fan one)

The toxic walks all over the 770, if I hadn't bought the 290x and if there was a water block for the toxic I'd I've grabbed 2(well one now second latter).
