Toyo Proxes question

T1-R's replaced T1-S's so I can only assume that they're better... They're the newer model if you wish just like Goodyear F1 GS-D2 / GS-D3 :)

Though I might be wrong :o

T1-s's were always a realy good performer in the wet but were probably let down in comparison to their competitors in the dry, whereas the T1-r's handle much better in the dry whilst maintaining their awesome handling in the wet

im preety sure thats the main difference

the R apparently stands for re-enforced, and in the sidewalls, and are allot stiffer, the S is pretty much as grippy but doesn't feel nearly as sure footed as the R in my experience

that is correct as stated on the toyo website.

im currently using t1-s's and when they need chainging i will get the t1-r's since they are the cheapest budget tyre i can find.

my t1-s cost me £35 inc vat and fitting. size: 195/50/15

I just got some 195/55/15's fitted to my Leon (T1-R's that is :p) - still bedding in so far but I'll give you guys my opinions later :>

Changed the tread pattern. Toyo UK site says.

The Proxes T1-R boasts a special performance compound and tread pattern which gives incredible road holding in all conditions, especially in the wet. The V-shaped grooves in the tread pump water away allowing the rubber to grip the road.

These are bounded by circumferential grooves which allow the Proxes T1-R to give you even better wet grip whilst being quieter and longer lasting as well.

I've used T1R's on my car.

Bit to squirmy under load and take feel and response away from *** steering but they are pretty good in all conditions if a little soft in terms of wear.

If your running 15" get some Yoko Parada Spec 2, they now do them in 195/50 for £40 or so

The T1-S I used as 205/55/16 and 215/35/18 on my old Scooby and had mega grip in wet or dry. Never tried the T1-R but would be happy to get the S again.

I agree with Jonnycoupe, I have a brand new pair sitting on alloys in the shed, probably won't use them, they just didn't feel quite right on my car at all.

Probably as they were paired with a stiff set of pots on the front which made the rear a bit wobbly.... still I wouldn't fancy T1Rs all round, so will probably get a whole new set of Parada Spec 2's when the time comes.
