TP Link ADSL Routers

Hi,

I'm thinking of picking up a new router as I want a dualband + gigabit one to replace my Sky router and separate switch. What are the TP-Link adsl modems like?

I've used some cheaper branded adsl routers in the past - but I've got a few TP Link devices and they seem ok.


Thoughts?

Get the 8960 model and NOT the later 8961
and you should be fine,cheap and cheerful I have had one for a few years until I upgraded to a n55u

Got the Model No. TD-W8968 recently. It seriously blows, lags out like crazy when too many devices connected to it. Also seems to overheat and takes a restart to get it back to normal.

8960 doesn't appear to be gigabit? Do the TP-Link's all share the same modem?

Never had a particularly good experience with TP-Link. Poor WiFi performance has often been the problem...

Hmm ok, will possibly give it a miss then. I think I'll forego one with built in modem and just pickup a router to use as an AP.
