Hi guys,

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best app for tracking an android phone from an iPhone/iPad? Doesn't need to be secretive just easy to use.

After having a look through various ones I keep coming up with family locator but would rather have input from people will real world experience.

Cheers

Using Life 360 here and find it's pretty good. I can track location history of the phone and see battery life which is useful in ways.

Can.you not just use the inbuilt android device manager? Can track it using a web browser and saves you installing anything else.

I know nothing about it mate, was asked to look into it by my wife's aunty.. I'm looking into it but figured asking here could get me some good info. It's for her brother that after an illness has to be in a care home kind of thing but is allowed out? He's been asked to have one put on his phone. He was there tonight when I was asked about it so it's no secret I assume just a peace of mind thing. I didn't want to just install any old rubbish though so said would get back to them in a couple of days.

Her auntie and nan have iPhone and iPad though and his phone is android.

I see, may be worth a shot then. It's quite basic but does the job. It's 'on demand' though so won't give you a history and you have to locate it manually. But as I say, it's built in so its worked well for me and it's free.

Another option is the location sharing on Google+.

On the Android device, open Google+, swipe from the left and tap location, press the 3 dot menu button and press location settings. Turn on and then tap choose people to share with, being the Google account on the iOS device.

On the iOS device open Google+, go to Locations and near the bottom of the map tap the person icon and it will allow you to locate people who has allowed to share their location with you.
