Track my 4850

I really want a Quad :(

Got a first generation nForce 680i though and I really don't fancy my chances overclocking it, so I would need a new board as well, then may as well get DDR3, and then may as well wait for Nahelem :p
 
tbh for gaming a quad is pretty useless still. I had 2 and they were great fun for ocing and benchmarking and general e-peen status but going to dual core i noticed no difference. (Well I did at first in UT3 going to an e6300 @ 3.3ghz...my clocked e6750 cured that though, and afaik ut3 is the only game that really shows benefits from quad)

Yeah, and it'll probably be like that for another year or so. Kinda makes me wonder why they are bothering with octo core's so soon when quad cores are barely utilised in mainstream. I can see the point of octo core server cpu's or for high end system that use things like Maya but for mainstream / gaming I can't see any justification.

Hope your HD4850 gets delivered tomorrow OP! Mine is arriving tomorrow also, looking forward to getting it and increasing my case temps by 25c :D

Athough the last 2 items I got from Citylink ended up not getting delivered and when enquiring apparantly I wasn't in and not glaring out the window like a 5yr old at Christmas waiting for new toys. This pretty much sums up City Link, 230 reviews - 200 out of 230 reviews say 1 star :P
 
If you live on the same round as the citylink guy who delivers to my house, he'll be there about 0755 tomorrow practically kicking the door down!

I know they get a lot of bad press, but I've found them brilliant. I guess like any business, your user experience depends on the individual you get!

Anyway, congrats on the card whenever it arrives, it's a belter! I wish I'd brought two now.

lol getting mine today aswell along with a whole new system !! shame im at work and wont be home till 6pm, persuade my gf to stay in till it arrives so i dont miss it lol :D

Same driver for years, never had an issue though once he never got me in (I was) but came back on his return run about 4-6pm.

That's the same as me, I've got/had the same driver for quite a while, he usually turns up at around 10-10:30 AM and always makes sure I hear him knocking :p.

I've never had a problem with citylink myself either, it really is down to the driver/individual you get from them.

I presume you're going to CF those? What mobo have you got?
 
Ooh, I'll be watching how you get on with that. That and the J&W X48 are on my shortlist of motherboards.
 
Azza I'm jealous. My 2900XT is cringing in shame at this very moment. I believe my P5N-E 650i board is also trying to look inconspicous. If only I had money and a reason to upgrade.
