Tracking an old first name...

i know nothing said:
Ask him if he has a brother called Ian who is a year or two older than him, or an older sister called Jayne.

he wont give me any more help without cancelling the deal :( can i ask why you wonder this?

well, follow him home with your ninja skills, then you know his address...and his car registration - that should give you somewhere to go...

and if that fails you can always just break in and find his passport...

*warning, some/all of these may be illegal...

Way ahead of you mate, if you look at my first post in this thread you'll see that I already knew the business was in Selsdon Road, Croydon. ;)

I'm not convinced it is the correct business, although it might be. The problem with Thompson Plastics Limited is that it was only incorporated in December 2005. It's too new I suspect (I don't know when his mother passed away though). There is however a Thompson Plastics (Hull) Ltd. which has a more complex share structure under a holding company and has been around a lot longer.

Furthermore, Thompson Plastics Limited has the following:-
Company Secretary: Jayne THOMPSON
Director: Ian THOMPSON
There's no Frost's there, hence the reason I asked whether or not it could possiby be the one in Hull.

Say, "If I were to give you £2000, would you give me your full name?"

Shake on it. Then get the name. Then tell it back to him and claim your £1000.

You don't have to give him £2000 as you said 'IF I were to....' he just told you name randomly....???

:D

All you would need is his drivers licence. Credit card and cheque book might give the game away.

doesn't johnny69 have a good trick of getting the log book of another car? that would have his name on it.

Any idea where abouts he lives? Has the name been unoffically changed for a long time?

http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/

Put in where you think he lives and sift through for any enter {}.J Frost

This could at the very least yield the first character.

why not just open enough tabs to do all the letters of the alphabet?

I live really near Croydon. How much are you going to pay me to ride over there and ask what his first name is?

Email in trust ;)

The DVLA route takes a few weeks to come through unfortunately :)

Fill in a V20 form (I think it was) with the numberplate and the chassis number and they send you a duplicate logbook (V5c) but it takes them about 2-3 weeks and costs you £20. I did it with the 'abandoned' classic Jag in the garage next to mine but it turned out the current owner never changed the name on the logbook so all I got was the previous owner who sold the car in 1984 and was dead.
