Not so much it being old but was a design fault. Springs tend to snap at the bottom and in unfortunate instances stab through the side of the tyre.

I live in London and can't get proper 4 wheel alignment done for less than £100.

Its one of the reasons I haven't got round to doing it yet (even though it needs it).

Anybody got any recommendations for a decent tracking / alignment place in or around Leek / Stoke?

My e46 has developed a low speed judder through the steering wheel, nothing looks wrong & I don't recall hitting anything / driving over a kerb etc.

That doesn't include adjustment. Or didn't when I went. But then things change. Book in advance. About an hour while you wait. I supplied my own toe settings and they adjusted to that for me.
