Trackmania Nation Forever

There is a keyboard setting in your profile options in game to hide/unhide opponent cars. It only worked offline in the first version of TMU but I believe they've fixed it online now.

In the advanced options you can set seperate to the game there is an option for how many other cars are shown and how close they are to your car before they become invisible.

Got my copy of TMU and it works a treat :D

BTW - is there any particular settings required for other people to be able to see my new car model? Just that a few of my m8's were saying they couldn't see it :(

I think - but I could be completely wrong - that it's done in the P2P section of the config. Have either you or they disabled that?

Installed and started playing last night, but I'm having trouble getting the update from any of the mirrors, so I can't play online yet.

Does anyone know of a torrent for the update file?

You need to open a few ports on your firewall/router, or i think you can place a "locator" (file that redirects to a webpage) so people will download it from a website instead of 60 people all trying to download it from you at the same time. There's an FAQ on TM carpark iirc

the 900mb file?
I got it from here
another mirror here

Gamershell also has it (good mirrors) but you can't pause/resume.

How many visible cars is everyone running when playing online? I have it set at 12, which seems to reduce stuttering considerably over the 99 I was running.

Absolutely love this game, best racing game ive played in ages.

Currently sitting around 6,600th in the world.

Username - thiras

If anyone wants to add me in game :D

Awesome, just read how to do it on TMCarpark, i'll get that sorted tonnight :D

Cheers muchly. :)

Just played the 1st one... I like it, although it's fairly long for my liking. Not sure if it's the length of the lap or having to do 3 laps.

The only suggestion I can think of is that the 2nd half of the lap is a bit too flat, compared to the first half. However, I was only playing on my own, so not sure if this is as noticeable when you're racing against others.

Couple of tracks i've made if anyone is bothered:

Ignore the medal times as it was just a quick burn around for validation purposes.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

First track is more of a racing/kart track.

Second is a bit more TM Stunt/Race track.

I'm struggling to get these to work.

edit, sorted it now. I like the first one, did 2:20 on my second go. That's probably about a bronze time maybe? I'll give the other one a go later.

It's a pity there are not many people playing TMU games, those (micro) 4wd cars are impossible to control with the keyboard, when at high speed too >:F

I've been playing in a server that plays "F1" tracks, so basically 5 laps of a fairly simple track (all on one level, no jumps). It's pretty good, lots of actual racing.
Real F1 racing, and F1 lap challenge? are the server names

Just tried the second one Hex, and I like that one too.

It's tricky but not too tricky that you can barely do a lap, which is the case with some of the stunt tracks online.

1:00.23 is my best time on that one.

what a great little game, for free,..

very impressive, more gameplay than a lot of these new and expensive titles that are just all graphics and nothing else.
