Seems it was your loss as a one minute setup of steam and your patches would have been downloading for you rather than looking around the net and then having to ask here. Seems like steam actually cuts out an extra step or two for you rather than adding one.

Simple, effective and unobtrusive. Auto updating. Keep your games on multiple PC's. It is keeping many of the smaller smaller developers in the market as well. That is how I find it anyway.

The fact I should have just Installed TMNF and discovered the auto updater before asking this one part of my questions about the game, doesnt mean I need Steam. In this case though your right, I added an extra step of my own I didnt need to. I'm sure I will get over it :p
 
I dont know why everyone is jumping down his throat, flaming him...if he doesnt want to use steam he doesnt have to, its his choice, I've read over years steams had many problems for people such as not loading games, or crashing, or failing to patch or register a CD key or lost purchases and whole games list going missing.

For some people it works flawlessly for others they've had trouble, if it works for you great, but trying to make out that steam works for everyone because it works for you is just silly...it's like any kind of bugs with PC's, sometimes games crash on one PC but not another, it depends on software and hardware and could be a thousand different reasons why something messes in.
 
The thread is solved. While some people like Steam (Me included), not everyone does. People are entitled to their opinion and if they don't want to use it then it's their decision.

If people are so curious maybe start a "Why do some people hate Steam" thread.
 
Like with all software, there is no perfect version.

Personally I don't use steam with all my games except the ones they have on sale that I bought.

To say someone isn't supporting PC gaming because they don't use Steam is ludicrous though.
 
I get prefering retail or other sources, but "completely anti-steam"? Even for a free game?

I'm intrigued as what could be so bad that he won't even give his reasons for hating it.

Point on the dolly where the bad software touched you.

Also, I know you said its another topic but can you just in a nutshell explain why you will not install Steam? Im just intrigued.

GFWL I can understand cos its uber sh*te but Steam?...
