Hey all,

I was lucky enough to get myself a wii at launch, but now I'm feeling sort of unlucky I got one, its been gathering dust for months now ...

I now have the chance to trade in my wii ( to my local exchange place ).

All together I have;

Wii Console
Wii Remote x 3
Wii Nunchuck x 3
Wii Classic Controller x 2
Wii Play
Wii Sports
Zelda
Super Monkey Ball

and they are gonna give me £370 for the lot.

So I was thinking of trading it in, putting another £100 towards, and getting myself a nice ps3 bundle?

What would you guys do? I mean how many great games is the wii really gonna have?

Any advice would be help, Cheers :)

I would advise you to get the ps3. If it is been gathering dust, it wont harm you trading if off and try something else. :)

That's a good price for a second-hand Wii, although even the controllers are like gold dust at the moment!

I guess the questions to ask yourself are why you didn't play on the Wii and what games/features interest you in the PS3. If you didn't play on the Wii because you don't have the time, then it's probably not worth getting a PS3 either.

I'd sell it privately on MM. Wiis are still in demand and I'd expect you to get a good price.

Then decide whether you want a PS3 or not.

If the Wii is anything like the DS it will be kinda slow for games this year IMO, it will pick up again later on no doubt.
Personally i play my PS3 more than my Wii.

Well, i don't play on the wii, because I completed zelda, and super monkey balls is pretty boring ( no where near as good as the others )

I fancy a few games on the ps3, motorstorm mainly tho :)

I suppose I should mention I have a 360, that another reason I don't play on the wii, not cos I don't want to, but I can't convince myself to spend £40 on a wii game, when I could get a better 360 games for the same (or less)

I was looking at getting a HD-Drive for my 360, but was thinking would be better to spend the money on getting a ps3 :)

cheers

Apparantly the guys at Nintendo have been complaining at the GDC as third party devs are only assigning second or third tier teams to develop for the Wii. Theres definately a game drout and no real decent titles lined up for quite a while. I have a feeling it will go the same way as the DS, with only Nintendo releasing the really fun games which take advantage of Wiimote waving etc. I can't see the point in playing standard style console games on the Wii as I would rather play the HD version on PS3 or 360 tbh.

Give it enough time and decent games will come out, but for now you may as well chop it in against a PS3 and then review the whole Wii situation further down the line when it's cheaper, easier to get hold of and has a decent stack of must play games out for it.

One reason i never got the wii it will have good games but damn they will be far apart or much fewer than other platforms.

No doubt about the catalouge on PS3 being better than wii and id advise you look into the "Bond" Blu Ray film as its getting reviewed as a belter of a disc.

Completely agree. I personally love the idea of a Wii in my lounge. Wii Sports for the family and Zelda for me but beyond that it's looking quite barren.
I had a quick look at some bundles last week and I'm quite shocked at how much, what essentially is a just peripheral ;) costs. Now if MS or Sony could pull off some deal where you could use a numchuck or something similar and play games like Wii Sports on the 360/PS3 in HD, I'd jump at it.

Well there is the Nintendo MS rumour doing the rounds... MS are giving Nintendo Viva Pinata and some other Rare stuff and MS are getting something in return, can't remember what!

not sure what games your looking at for £40 on the Wii

anyway, most people using the wii dont have time to play that much, so A list games that are few and far between are not a problem.

I have had Zelda for three weeks now and for various reasons have not had a chance to play more then 5 hours yet :(

Iv been thinking the same thing as the OP selling my wii for a ps3, I do have the extra remote and num chuck and also a classic pad but game wise only got warrio and wii play/sports so im guessing ill have to put quite a few ££ on the ps3

Picture proof needed with kingsmill.

Like I said, we don't have kingsmill, hows hovis - best of both? :P lol

* i think thats everything i mentioned ...

They offered you £370 in exchange - that seems pretty good.

SSX blur is out soon on the Wii - but yeah - bit of a game drought at the moment.

To buy all of that brand new (online) would be similar.
