Trading a car in with existing faults

I traded my last car in to WBAC with a fault and didn't mention it. The fault was indicating a flap was sticking in the inlet manifold (known issue on a lot of vehicles from the VW Group) which would have been a new manifold.
I also happened to know that the car could go anything from 1-7 days after I'd cleared the fault before the light would come back on.
So I drove to WBAC, cleared the fault - went in, got the car assessed, negotiated the price, took my money and walked away.

At the end of the day, it would cost WBAC or whichever motor reseller took it on a lot less to fix the fault that it would have cost me. Didn't feel guilty from an "end owner" point of view - if it went to auction it is always buyer beware and if it was sold with a warranty, warranty would cover it.
