Trading in my 360 stuff for a PS3? How much...

I agree with pretty much every comment so far. Don't trade your 360 for a PS3.

I've had a PS3 since launch and I'm happy with it, but that's taking into account the fact that I also have a 360 and I knew it would be a slow start for the PS3 in terms of games.

It would be a BIG problem if I only had a PS3.

i would take out the ps3 blueray drive and put it in a a 360. best of both worlds right?

I'd put the 360 innards into the PS3 box. Then it might not overheat as much and you can have the Blu-ray drive still.

Just invest in some new games for the 360.

Dont get me wrong, i like the PS3 but i find the games more entertaining on the 360.

The thing with the 360 is that its got quite a narrow lineup, it is xbox afterall. If you want something different go for the Wii or PS3. 360 is hardly going to fit everyone.

The japanese GT5 Prologue demo has been released on the japanese PSN store a lot of people really like it and its a game you wont get anywhere else. Ratchet and Clank is out soon in the next few weeks. Eyetoy out soon with Eye of Judgement and support for Singstar. Time Crisis before christmas alongside Uncharted. Its getting good on the PS3 and variety is strong. Not counting download only games like Wipeout HD and Flower.

Are you mad? The 360 has the widest line up of all the current consoles as well as the best existing catalogue. There are some games coming for the PS3 that I am looking forward to but as several other people have said the PS3 is pretty barren at the moment and if it was my only console I would be far from happy.

Bear in mind that 360's are £195 new now for a premium.

? Are you sure? I just searched all the normal sites and then did product searches and it is still around £250 for premium and £300 for elite

Not everyone is the same though, PS3 is my only "current gen" console atm and i'm very very happy.

To the OP - Ask yourself why do you want a PS3?

I sold my 360 because there was a limited amount of games that really appealed to me that I couldn't already get or would soon be able to get on my PC. I bought a PS3 because I want to play the next Final Fantasy, the next Metal Gear Solid, the next Gran Turismo etc. etc. and I wanted a well built console that was reliable (that is not a dig at the 360 its a true statement), and I wanted Blu-Ray and I wanted to install linux on it.

Not everyone is of the same opinion as me though as is evident with the replies here, what I would recommend is really think why you would want a PS3 over a 360, and if your happy with your 360 hang onto it and maybe pick up a PS3 when they are even cheaper or at a point when you have more cash, because at the end of the day, it makes sense to get both if you can.

Well I disagree the PS2 has the best line up of games for current consoles, I have a PS3 and i dont get time to play or finish the games I have for it now though. The op said he wanted to know much he would get not if people thought it was a good idea, as that in the end is there choice.
Well using the trade in price guide for another place premiums are worth £150, GH2 with guitar is £38, GOW is about £16, the other 2 games are £13 each. These prices may have changed since the last update but i hope its an indication for you to make your own mind up.

You can get most things online at not so popular/dodge looking sites for cheaper prices

I am talking about the price of the 360, all the big stores and nearly all the online stores have the same price. The way it was worded was as if to say the RRP had been reduced again

It is not as if when he goes to trade in his 360 the guy behind the till is going to search the web for the rock bottom cheapest price as the basis for trade in value

Dont do it mate, it would be a huge mistake at the moment, like Nimrod, i own all 3, 360 gets 80% of my time, wii 15% ps3 5% (if that).

Tell me why its not current? Can you still buy it brand new? is it still in production? And do they make games for it? To me that makes it a current console, maybe not a new gen console but a current gen one.
