I'm sure I read they need the price at something like $150000 per ounce to balance out their debt... lolis there even enough gold in the world to do that.
Some foreign media sources pointed out that TSMC may come to the rescue and let Intel spin off its semiconductor manufacturing division into a joint venture with TSMC. Intel's stock price rose more than 7% on the 12th to close at $22.48, but TSMC ADR fell 1.13% to close at $206.38.
Foreign media reports pointed out that Tristan Gerra, an analyst at Baird, an investment institution, said that Intel and TSMC may adopt a strategic cooperation, and Intel will spin off its semiconductor manufacturing department to become a joint venture of TSMC. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said at the AI Mobile Summit in Paris that the Trump administration will ensure that state-of-the-art AI chips are made in the United States. However, as many as 90% of the world's most advanced chips are currently made by TSMC in Taiwan, and the local chipmaker that the U.S. government can count on is Intel.
Vance noted that the Trump administration will ease regulatory restrictions and implement policies to ensure that AI systems are developed in the U.S. and AI chips are manufactured in the U.S.
