Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Don't say that man! Makes me cry to see them and yell in my account :o

Did another top up on DES as well. Hoping 18months time will be a good return ?

Tell me about it, Yell is killing me. I topped up another 10k to try and bring down my average cost. Looks like I am going to have to forget about the money in there for some time.

BARC will bounce back with time but I would not buy over 330 my self.

Be wary throwing good money after bad, otherwise you will play the fun game of catching the knife!

My OPINION (Not advice) is to Have a look at NTA- a Platinum Prime homebuilder in London- Profits next year will be larger than current market cap, and hugely undervalued. It's been on a run recently but still undervalued IMO. My target is £3.00.

DYOR, etc

Yah seems as I have been getting it all wrong for the last week or so.

Sold XTA at 10.95 ish and rio at 35. They are both up quite a lot now. I did not buy BARC because I thought I could get it a few P lower, they are also up 5% now and I am holing losses in yell!

Im not going to buy any more Yell

Barc I saw but wasnt sure about either but then I never am so I just have to say well I dont mind holding or with yell I cant bring myself to say that so I 'miss out'.
Barc was bottom of its channel or recent range, after such a move its now near the top. See how the price peaked and retracted quickly, on monday and yesterday
Lloyds rose even faster, barc pays a div though :)

Markets have been extreme recently but in total just now sideways. Again its hard to say which way it'll go

I have a colleague who bought Cairn Energy at 17p and still owns them at 450p.

I thought I got lucky just randomly buying them at 200 without realising they were anything that special. Questor tipped them

HMV Im told is good, again not my kind of thing but apparently good div backed by 1.6 times earnings? I'll stick to tesco :p

SKR rose after I sold, I misjudged the momentum slightly though I was roughly correct on 30 being at least a short term sticky point.
Not really going to kick myself there though 35p over 29p is a substantial extra I could have had, realistically Im just grateful for anything as these markets make me dizzy

Sold some BP at 417p too, I accidentally overbought a bit. error in my favour

Averaging I can sympathise with, it can be good in theory. Maybe the main point is you have to treat each time considering the share and has anything changed, is the market wrong or am I. At some point you got to figure out why you got the timing wrong to start off with or whatever, price isnt value but traders dont make money on theories.

Averaging has worked best for me with a fund or tracker, then I can worry less. Averaged into asia pacific and it like doubled from the lows

EMED doing ok but I remain slightly less optimistic on it going to 14 from 8 or whatever. This market is bullish now so depends on that I guess, anything will go up if people are buying everything

Markets looking revitalised, what a way to come back from my holiday! Tempted to sell my XTA at this point and take a nice bit of profit.

Its been a poor 4 - 6 weeks for my selection of shares, but then again i wasn't really expecting anything to happen till Christmas / New Year, with the exception of RRL which has disappointed.

Everything is up - retrace soon no doubt.

Rightmove was a good shout at 598 the other day too, hit 770 on friday.

Rio at 3600 too.

Now out of Barc at a reasonable take (for this moment in time anyway). Looking to break even with yell and then plump it into something else......

DES up last few days 118. which makes my balance sheet look acceptable.

The only share I am currently holding is YELL which I got at 15.5p. The rest I have sold recently awaiting some pull back on the markets.

When things come down a bit i'll be back into some of my favs, LLOY, KAZ, XTA, AV., BDEV, PSN, TW. etc :)

I don't play the oilies or the AIM shares much myself, I prefer the FTSE stocks more predictable, though less lucrative clearly ;)
