Anyone catch it last night?

I watched most of it last night and the ending just now...the 'sentences' and 'fines' that were handed out to some of the people were a joke!
One man who was so out of it he was found asleep in his car was tested for being 6x over the legal limit, but then because it looked like he was physically incapable of providing a second specifmen within 3 minutes of the first one he only got charged with failure to provide a specimen, fined £60 and banned for 12months!!!

I watch this program because I find it pretty interesting and funny that some of the scumbags get what they deserve but also riles me up in equal measure grrrrrrrrr

Yeah i watched it last night myself, the sentences were laughable, and i feel sorry for the cops in it really as some of the stuff they put up with, gettin abused by 15 year olds, how could they get served? did anything happen to the barman or lady that served them in the club? just disgracefull

He was twice over the limit, the lower of his two readings being 78 not 6 times over the limit. And even if the blood test was taken the he would have be prosecuted under the same part of the road traffic act, Section 4.

And lets make it clear the magistrates passes sentence not the police.

I caught it last night and the bit at the end was actually quite saddening :(

Very - I was surprised they showed it as you saw the poor lad's face as he was pulled out of the water. It only made sense once they started showing his family etc, obviously they wanted it to be shown as a warning to others.

I watched it last night and every single incident involved alcohol in some way... it got quite repetitive :p Good show though...

That was the theme for the show. I thought it would be all drink driving, but that last bit was very sad indeed. Fair play to the emergency services for acting so quickly.

Some of the sentencing was a joke.

theakston explained why they didn't go in, as did the policeman on the scene.
i can't quite remember what he said but he did have a valid excuse. they didnt have the necessary equipment, as the water was murky, deep and cold

The fire fighters are trained for water rescues, were wearing wet suits and had life jackets, and used special tools to find the guy.

The police had.. nothing.

If he was on the surface maybe someone would have done something, but he wasn't, there was no sign of anyone. Jumping in would have done nothing, just meant someone else needed rescuing too.

Did anyone else think the 3 points for the red light jumping was a bit harsh?

They showed a reply and she was JUST before the line when it turned red. Her slamming on her brakes then wouldn't off been a great idea?!
