Traffic Rant !!!

I drive just under 2 miles to and from work, u mad?

I put in £50 2 weeks ago today, did a trip to coventry and back, and am still on the same tank. Feels good man.

The first day i drove after passing my test was xmas day 93. I met one other car on my 6 mile journey. Go out now on xmas day and its worse than a normal day.

Surely it was on traffic websites/highways agency websites etc? Did you not check them before you left? I always do before a long journey.

The other week on the way home from college in South Shields for Easter, I had a rather pleasant cruise down a rather empty A19 through the scenic North Yorkshire National Park and was making really good time, but was then enraged when I hit an 80 mile stretch of the M62 near Leeds where they were renewing the road lighting. There wasn't a workman in sight and hardly another a vehicle on the road either, yet the speed limit was dropped to 50mph and the average speed check cameras were out in force.

It's reassuring to know that our road workers are so well protected by the noble guardians of the Highways Agency, even when they're at home having their dinner. I'll take the M6 north and A66 back when I return on Sunday, and God help me if they start knobbing around with the roads up there.

I used to drive from Cambridge to Slough every work day for 7 months, it really nearly killed me, my 42 round trip to work everyday seems just like a joyride in comparison. Also I get to try by car like I stole it down some hairy B roads everyday :)

Anybody that has to use the M25 on a daily basis deserves a medal!
