iam not the only one, the country has been run into the ground, now lets see next month with the irish hope they vote NO, otherwise its just goign to get worse in this country.

Meh, we are living with train lines that old and I mean old and outdated but thats what happen when you pioneer something, the Spanish are still considered a poor country in Europe, they have land to play with and money from EU, its almost impossible for us to build lines like that without having to raze areas, we simply don't have the land to do it. The main line from London to Glasgow goes through Wigan and with the M6 and villages and the existing lines, you just cant build these super tracks for the super trains.
nor did japan but they did it.

Boris Johnson talks about it here. He makes the arguement that infrastructure is the easist thing to cut, despite it being the one that's worst for us in the long run.

yes, in the past cut spending when the uk infrastructure was tip top, now it gash how gash can it get? its going to get to a point where it has to be updated someday at what cost.
