1\ safe and fun
2\ death traps
3\ ok if sensible

thinking of getting one for the garden and wondered what the general consensus is.

3 - like anything in life really, there is a risk but if used properly then they are safe enough.

we have one, even though my boys trampolining coach said they are death traps. Think she was worried he'd only bounce at hme and not the club any more though lol

Safe and fun (provided you get one that's the proper size and include padding to protect little feet from the springs and a net to stop little heads from connecting with the ground).

My son has had various sizes of trampoline through the years and it provides a lot of fun for him as well as a good deal of exercice.

3. We recently got one for my daughter who is 20 months. It took her a while to get use to it but now she loves it.

Get one with a safety cage, don't worry they are held on with hard metal bars so theres no danger that the kids will break through it and damage the fresh summer grass

Definitely very safe and very fun. (coming from a 24 year old child who bought one yesterday)

Not sure about being very safe. I recommend you buy one with a net and it will stop them from hitting the ground. Have a look at this news story http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8273795.stm basically there is loads of safety advice on how to site and use a trampoline the news story is about injuries and parents ignoring safety advice.

Or sink the trampoline into the ground like above.

I was playing on one the other day and it was awesome. I did, however, smash my teeth on my knee and will probably require corrective dental sugery in years to come.

*thumbs up*

We have a nine-foot-long one (I think) with side netting and there have been no accidents on it yet with my three-year-old or any of her friends. I'd have thought that they would be okay to dispose of because you can give it away or sell it locally when the wee nippers outgrow it.

Pah, too much protection kills the fun. Where's the danger?

Might as well walk around in a big bubble wrap suit all day just incase. :p
