Transcend 32GB 2.5" SATA Solid State Hard Drive

I would imagine they have very slow transfer rates, but hopefully I'm wrong and the days of "affordable" SSD are here.

You can fit 4 2.5" drives in a single 5.25" drive bay which is nice as well.

32gb

Read up to 26MB/s (with UDMA Mode4).
Write up to 8MB/s (with UDMA Mode4).

16gb

Read up to 32MB/s.
Write up to 28MB/s (with UDMA Mode4).

Not so good.

i was under the impression that SSD where port at read write speed, but they have very quick assess times. which is why they are good for OS installs and swap files.

People get too hung up on transfer rate tbh.
When it comes to OS and a lot of games/apps it's the Access time that is far more important due to the fact that thousands if not hundreds of small files need to be accessed quickly.
Transfer rate is more important if say you were working with large single files such as Vobs or big hi-resolution pictures.
