Hi guys.

Finally got my X360 sorted to watch videos on my HDTV from the PC but when I transcode them via Transcode 360 the 16:9 videos are showing in 4:3.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

I wasn't - Do you mean VLC player or some sort of plugin for Transcode360.

I downloaded VLC player and tbh I couldn't figure out what to do. :p

I used the wizard for a network stream and put the IP of the X360 as the target machine, chose the video and away it went on the PC.
Only problem was actually viewing it on the Xbox. Where do I go to view the stream?

Cheers

what plugin is playing the movies ?
If it is ffdshow is the resize and aspect box selected ?

If not you could force the right screen size using this filter. e.g. I set mine to 1366×768 to match the TV 360 resolution.

Tbh I don't know - I now have the k-lite codec pack, Transcode 360, TVersity, and VLC installed but not ffdshow.
As far as I know TVersity can be removed because I couldn't get it to work and I've no idea how to use VLC so that can probably go too.

If I uninstall these and the K-Lite codec pack, then install ffdshow will I have all I need? Does ffdshow include codecs?

Sorry for all the n00b questions. :p

The only thing I have installed transcode wise (on vista) is the transcode program it self and ffdshow. It should automatically do widescreen, but using the vlc plugin it often resizes the file, depending on what resolution it is (most downloaded files it resizes but not all them).

Id recommend having only ffdshow and transcode360 installed.
