Transexual using female changing rooms?

Different circumstances depending on where it is.

If it's a High street fashion store, it's someone who genuinely identifies as a woman, wanting to try on womens clothes, why should they not be allowed in the womens changing room? (Also another point is women are allowed in the mens changing rooms, but not the other way around, logic).

However if it's a gym changing room / shower, where the persons todger will be swinging out in its full glory, then obviously in that instance it's different and they should go to the males changing room.

When I worked at Harvey Nichols, there was a group of regulars in the bar who were transvestites, they went into the ladies toilet and were stopped by the doormen, as the security supervisor on duty I had to go and deal with the incident.

Can, open, worms everywhere. Apparently, due to some archaic law, if a transvestite uses a male toilet, they can commit an offence of some kind of soliciting.

They were very friendly and amicable about it and said they'd try and only use the ladies if it was quiet.

As I understand it transvestites are men who dress up as women (or enjoy wearing women's clothes) and require nothing more.

Transgender is a completely different matter, wrong body for the mind ....

I think I heard once that (pre-op, of course) transsexuals' tend to have a shorter gap between their testicles and their anus, than does a non-transsexual.

Maybe that was homosexuals, though. Or something entirely different.....

All the better to stick it in.

There seems to be a lot of speculation that this is some kind of open plan gender specific changing room like you have in a gym with tackle swinging left, right and centre... they're talking about primark clothing fitting rooms here; which are all in individual cubicles anyway.

Personally I can't see how anyone would even notice a transgender / transvestite person in the same side of a fitting room. IMO the staff should have used their discretion here; realised that the person would be hidden from everyone else anyway (and vice-versa) and let them through. It must take a while to work up the courage to walk upto a female fitting room when you were born as a male.

That being said; if said person was to goto a gym or somewhere with open plan changing rooms my gut says they should go into the room for the gender they were born with; and use a cubicle within that if they feel the need to. simple clothing fitting rooms though - who cares!?!

Yes you are correct, I have a transgender friend who was married to his wife, she is now post-op. They had to get divorced to have a civil partnership.

Ian Fleming said homosexuals can't whistle in one of the James Bond books.

*whistles*

This, really.

To be honest, I find it hard to get excited about this topic - If transsexuals want to use the opposite changing rooms to the gender in which they were born, then I've got no issues, open plan changing or no.

I reckon Mrs Cheesyboy wouldn't be overly bothered by a transsexual female using the female changing either (In fact, I'm not sure Mrs Cheesyboy would be too flustered by fully mixed changing - maybe we should move towards that?)
