transfer a raid 0 array...?

ok I have a raid 0 array of two 640aakss and I'm changing from a asus pq5 to an gigabyte x58 ud3r.

now I believe they both use the Intel ICH10R will I have to lose the raid array and build a new one or will it remain intact...?

Simply remove the 2 x 640GB AAKS's from the P5Q and connect to your UD3R (Intel cont.), power on, go into BIOS enable RAID (also if I remember a BIOS update "may" give another setting named XLR or something, enable this as as well), then Save and Exit, go into RAID BIOS, select your 2 x 640GB AAKS's and select the EXACT stripe size that you used on P5Q, then create RAID etc, Exit and this should let you boot into Windows...Only connect the 2 x 640GB AAKS's, leave all other HDDs disconnected until you get the RAID up and running and then you can connect them afterwards.

You should'nt need to do most of that as soon as you enable the RAID in the bios the raid bios automatically detects the raided drives and automatically adds them to an array.
 
the array isn't used as to boot with ive got an Intel 80gb SSD for that :), but basically i gather that i should be able to plug the two drives in and the onboard raid controller will sort the array out.

I'm sure that this is the case, however, if done manually, you can be sure it will be done and done properly...
