just bought a replacement hard disk for my laptop, and i want to transfer it all to the new disk, my disk that is in now has a partition for the original install, and i want this to go over as well as it is now on my currant hard disk so that i can do a recovery as i can now

whats the best software to help me do this?

cheers

Just what I was looking for an answer too, waiting for a RMA drive to come back then I have to copy all from this temp 4Gb (yes 4Gb!) drive to the 60Gb..

You can buy a lead that will connect your laptop hard drive into a regular PC. You could transfer that way.

I'm not sure if there is a lead to connect the second HDD to the laptop. All I know is a mate of mine bought a lead when he had my laptop to connect it to his PC to extract the data when my laptops HDD was recently replaced.

Sorry to potentially hijack this thread, but I have a 2.5" -> USB adapter which is the sort of thing you are talking about? But it won't copy over all the MBR stuff etc will it?

i have an external usb hard disk to transfer the files to and then back again when new disk is in, its the best software to copy all partitions as they are now that i want to do.
