Transfer harddrives between systems

Hello,

I'm eagarly awaiting the delivery of my newly ordered hardware. I expect it to be here some time next week, however, being a typical scotsman, I ordered only the thins I needed at the lowest prices . Indeed, that means no new harddrives. I will be using the ones I have installed in this PC, but I would like to know if it'd be best to format and reinstall windows xp pro for the new system?

Personally I'd say reload - you can get away with not doing that and only reloading drivers etc as required for your new hardware onto your existing OS - mostly mobo drivers of course, but it's not guaranteed that it'll work and so you may have to reload from scratch anyway. A new load is better as you'll also regain full speed of the OS due to not having all the usual associated 'bloat' that Windows seems to collect over time!

depends on how much data you have on it though and if you can back that up and restore it afterwards.

Ok then I think it's clear . I already have a lot of my stuff backed up from a previous reinstall not so long ago and it'll probably do me better in the long run. Cheers guys.
