Hey guys my computers been goin fine since ive built it now, but the sound of the raptor is driving me insane a constant clicking, is there any way i can transfer the OS from it to one of my seagates.

Im runing 32 bit vista is that a problem?

Thanks

Why not just buy a hard-drive silencer, it seems a waste to have a raptor and not use it for your main opertating system. :)

the sound is just too much to bare, and i hear that the seagates are just as quick. I originally planed to have vista on the 74gb raptor and the 2 400 gb seagates for storage, now i wondering should i put the OS on the seagate?

is that ghost as in norton? cant find it on google
Yes, he means Norton/Symantec Ghost.

I don't touch Ghost with a 10ft bargepole however - too many bad experiences with RAID etc.

I personally use Acronis True Image Home 10 - inexpensive and very good. Works flawlessly with the RAID's I run too.

I went from a Seagate 7200.10 250gb 16mb cache to a Raptor 74gb 16mb cache for os. I can see a definite speed increase with the Raptor in both seek and transfer. My Raptor is in a Silentmaxx enclosure and is quiet as a mouse now, well nearly, certainly not loud by any standard.

Wouldn't go back to a 'normal' sata hd now.
