Transfer RAID array and controller card to new server - possible?

As title I have a LSI logic card with 8 2TB drives in RAID 5 on a server and I want to move the entire lot to a new server, can I just install the raid card drivers on the new server, plug the card + drives in the same place and it should read the array again ?

Yep could even use a different card as long as its similar, the raid array metadata is stored on the drives.

Given that a backup will be done, just how compatible are the different LSI cards? e.g. I have an LSO 9265-8i with a couple of R5 arrays hanging off it. Should I get any other LSI card that supports R5, are the arrays interchangeable? If one card fails, can I just move the drives to any other R5-capable LSI card and recover the data?
