Hi all
a mate is currently putting together a new pc, he's looking to have a SATA HD and all new components.
however he has around 5GB of data on his current HD that he must keep. obviously this would take a lot of cd's to back up. the idea we had was...
can he build his new pc new hd and all. then hook up his old ATA HD and transfer the files straight from one to the other? if so is it as easy as pluging the old hd in and windws assigning it a letter then just dragging from one drive to the other? im hoping that the hd wouldnt have to be formatted before windows would recognise it,
any help appreciated
